Consumer Update
October 2006 O'Mama Report Update
Happy fall! This October is the four-year anniversary of the launch of the National Organic Program. Consumers have learned to look for the organic seal as their assurance that no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, irradiation, sewage sludge or GMOs were used in foods bearing the USDA organic seal. Read about the certification process that goes on in the background of certified organic products to achieve that seal. Also in this issue: an article on the top five superfoods for your baby, Halloween recipes, and a link to fact sheets on food safety. The O'Mama Report Update is brought to you by the Organic Trade Association.
